New Members are always welcome. Please contact us if you are interested in finding out more about us, or if you would like to come along and give us a try. There are no auditions to join the band, all we ask is that you play a wind or brass instrument, or percussion to a good musical standard.
Current vacancies include: Bb Baritone, Baritone Saxophone, Bassoon, Euphonium, Horn (Eb or F), Oboe, Percussion/Drumkit, Tuned Percussion. If you play any other wind or brass instrument, you are also most welcome to ask us about joining.
The band owns various instruments, which can be loaned to members whilst they are in the band.
We have Rehearsals every Monday 7:15 – 9:15pm (Except on Bank Holidays and in December) at The Cause, 42 Causeway, Chippenham SN15 3DD.
We play at Village Fêtes, Town Band Stands, Gala Dinners and some Charity events, including carols in the High Street in December. We typically do around 20 Engagements a year, plus a few Carols. Members are asked to attend as many as they can in order to ensure a full-sounding band. We usually play for two hours, with a short break in the middle. These are usually weekend afternoons or evenings, although we can be asked to play weekday evenings.
The Band uniform consists of a jacket, white shirt, black trousers and shoes, a long and bow tie. The jackets and long ties are provided by the band.
Band members pay subs annually, the total annual fee is currently £50.
