Chippenham Town Band is on the lookout for a new conductor!
Due to childcare commitments, our current conductor is unable to continue taking sole responsibility for conducting the band. Therefore, we are looking for a new conductor to share or take over conducting.
The role involves leading rehearsals and concerts, shaping the musical direction of the band, and contributing towards music making in Chippenham through our activities as an inclusive community band. You should be an experienced and knowledgeable musician, ideally with previous experience of leading music ensembles.
Historically this has been a voluntary position, but expenses might be available subject to agreement by the band and committee.
The band rehearses from 7:15pm – 9:15pm on Mondays at The Cause, 42 The Causeway, Chippenham, SN15 3DD. https://thecausevenue.com/ We typically have 10 – 15 concerts per year, mainly in the summer and Christmas period.
